Churwell CIC: Free Early Education

At PLAY@Churwell Day Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework which is designed to ensure that children learn and develop well and gain the broad range of knowledge and skills to provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

PLAY@Churwell Day Nursery provides free early education for 2-4 year olds under the government funded scheme.

Eligible 2 year olds are entitled to 15 hours a week during term-time from the term after their 2nd birthday. You can check if you are eligible with your the Leeds Family Information Service.

3-4 year old children are entitled to a free 15 hour place the term after their 3rd birthday to when they start school. This increases to 30 hours a week for children of working parents – you can check if you are eligible and apply for the extra 15 hours at Childcare Choices

Our service is fully flexible, regardless of whether you are entitled to 15 or 30 hours of free early education and childcare. We are open from 7:30 to 18:00 and we can agree a pattern of sessions to suit the needs of you and your child. This includes ‘stretching’ your free hours to cover school holidays. You can also book additional paid for sessions.

You are welcome to visit with your child to see the facilities and meet the staff - please contact us to arrange this.
